manifesto so far >

.  rock 'n' roll spirit is an essential component in the emerging economies that springboard off creativity, innovation, talent, and online technologies

.  markets are conversations.  web 2.0 conversations are more than markets

.  self-sufficiency

.  small is beautiful ... but make it scalable ("it could make a million for you overnight")

.  now is good.  shaping tomorrow even better.

.  you cannot make music at 10 o'clock in the morning

.  irrational exuberance can make things happen

.  don't let the bastards grind you down

.  cheap tricks, gimmicks and guile beat those 'playing the long game'

.  this is not about 'the long game'

.  do it yourself, for yourself, on your own terms

.  attack it as if your life depends on it; this is not 'a hobby', this is not 'a career'

.  don't be afraid to be the biggest nickers in town

.  put faith in disruptive technologies, trends and attitudes

.  it is not about technology or technical know how

.  there's nothing wrong in being in it for the money ... to do things with, to do nothing with

.  insanely simple ideas fly

.  don't wait to be invited to your own party

.  rules : at best they slow you down, at worst they set everyone off in entirely the wrong direction

.  bet on yourself

.  stay independent of the machine until you have the big money on the table

.  don't take it too seriously.  laugh at yourself.

.  youth matters - it involves less compromise.

.  stand on the shoulders of giants; exploit existing technologies, platforms and ideas

.  what you do for a living must inevitably reflect, inform and shape your philosophy on life - both in your own eyes and those of others.  anyone who thinks otherwise is in denial.

.  just do it.  ("feel the fear and do it anyway")

.  leave the safety net behind (or face up to always falling back into neat but unsatisfying security)

.  'wish list' first; then 'to do' list

.  all manifestos are bullshit.  remember this.
